When my daughters hit a certain age, that was the deal I made with them. As long as they were “in bed” by a certain time, what time they actually fell asleep was up to them. As long as attitudes stayed good & grades were acceptable, I was OK with them reading or quietly playing in bed. My older one would stay up for a while; my younger one was usually asleep in minutes.
Did she eat or drink during her acting out? What about a diaper change or two? And someone definitely needs to cut her nails before her next next “Cat In The Box” event!!
Do what we do with a real cat, then – pick up the box and gently tip it until she comes out. And what – you haven’t trimmed her nails in some time? She’s not going to “claw” you. Take charge, you two!
If it gets the job done and there’s no lasting physical or emotional damage then it’s effective parenting. And sometimes that’s the best you can hope for. If the caveat isn’t met however…..
It’s not bad parenting; it’s knowing which battles to pick. Dose the bright lights and turn on the night light. When you come back in a half hour and find her asleep in the box, tip her out and tuck her into bed. Before morning, you can make the box disappear.

So far I’m kinda glad she’s staying in the box. Maybe a little bit dangerous to be running around loose.

Treat her like a cat and spray water in her face from a bottle sprayer.

Should have tried “kitty” treats such as M & Ms to lure her out.

Hopefully, Wren won’t need to be gotten up in the middle of the night to go potty since they’re foregoing it now.

CAN a snow shovel even support the weight of a toddler? Plastic would snap and aluminum would bend…

May be she will sleep it off.

No, caving to the kid is not good parenting.

You know, a spray bottle filled with icy water always works on a real cat. I’m just sayin’.
