Tiff understands that it’s time to shut it down, bur Bets still thinks she pull this off, "Well boys, do your best for the women and children, and look at for yourselves ".
“All hands abandon ship!” as the claxon sounds in the background! (Thinking of the Star Trek: Next Gen episode “Cause and Effect” where they got stuck in a time loop. They were only stuck for 18 days. How long have Bets and Tiff been stuck?)
They are already building the business case and don’t know it. Basically it’s not about 1:1 coaching as it doesn’t scale, but creating a course or guidebook and offering it online for a scalable price and offering 1:1 services for a higher price that covers their manual time spent while the online courses generate passive income with bi-yearly updates.
The Luann email that arrived today had a header reading “What makes something funny?” All I could think was, “Find out and apply it to this story arc.”
Very appropriate analogy Tiff, especially if you discount that the Titanic was well designed, built, actually floated and made it out of port. Oh, and people actually used it and enjoyed it. It was a success. The only reason its success was so short was human stupidity (which is the main thing you two have in common with the Titanic)
Back when this arc started, on March 27, they had a rebranding assignment due on April 1. I think it’s a little over due at this point. As is a different arc.
They made a promise to a client and they have to follow through or they are not proper business people; Bets and Tiff should have tried their concept on themselves first; they made assumptions; they didn’t dig deep yet they are in a hole; I believe they will follow through but not until they do the homework they should have done earlier.
E.J. Smith ignored the iceberg warnings despite receiving multiple messages. Plus the alleged conversation he and Bruce Ismay had about speeding up the ship.
They’re problem is they can’t identify someone who needs rebranding. Luann is someone who is comfortable with herself and feels no need to be rebranded. Betts ought to make an ad posting to touch base with some of her FOLLOWERS from her old site, people who probably really need to be rebranded.
Recognizing that the idea they thought was so good wasn’t is a great act of maturity, especially if they are able to talk about it so calmly. Tiffany and Bets work well as business partners, let’s hope they continue to work together. I would have liked if Luann could have found her major thanks to them, but that leaves the possibility that Jack will be the one helping her. He’s studying to be a vet thanks to her and could return the favor.
No need to tell Luann anything….. just leave her alone.
I am glad they are “refining their course forward” (business buzz-speak for figuring out how to salvage their foolish plan). I think they should start over and do something completely different, behind the scenes, and doing so with the thousands of Moony students we never see. Then after they are done….. have an actual scene here where Tiffany is shown clicking a keyboard button and proclaiming to Bets, “I just submitted our project…. minutes before the due date! C’mon, let’s go do something fun instead.”
I don’t think they have to worry about telling Luann anything. I doubt she’s eagerly awaiting her “new brand.” If they really feel the need to tell her anything, they could just say: “We concluded you’re fine just the way you are,” and let it go at that. A blank slate full of potential isn’t such a bad thing.
And before anyone starts yelling, “Luann needs to focus, Luann needs to pick a course of study,” let me say I agree with that assessment,. But LUANN is a fictional character who can only behave the way her creators want her to. And right now they want her to be a shallow, lazy idiot.
Glad yo see these two had a chance to go home, sleep, change clothes. Decisions are always best when made after a sound sleep and with strong Java in hand.
As I recommended on another site, they should highlight Lu’s breadth of interests and offer to brand her
I called this an idiotic topic a couple of weeks ago. I promised to stop reading this strip if the topic did not end. The time has come after many years to drop Luann. Good bye.

It’s true.. all Bets and Tiff need are those musicians who kept playing, while the Titanic sunk in the ocean. lol

I gotta admit.
I admire Bets and her stubborn tenacity, sometimes.
She don’t give up easy.
But then again, neither did General Custer…….., ;-)
