I suppose swallowing goldfish would be better, but perhaps Beckom would prefer panty-raids and streaking. Piano smashing sounds good, while telephone booth stuffing suggests closeness. (I know some of you VW people were there too) Me, I like the classic pole sitting as it likens to the Stylites who lived on pillars, preaching, fasting and praying. Now that is saintly.
One of the Proud Boys leaders was spotted at the Columbia protest yesterday. The protests are a toxic mix of well-meaning students, plus a variety of outside agitators determined to make chaos and violence that can be wrongly blamed on dems and used as the kind of excuse trump craved for declaring martial law and militarizing Democratic cities.
Mike Johnson showing up confirms that this is to a large extent a right-wing anti-Biden operation. So does the crowing over disrupting the Democratic Convention (but not the RNC). Standard rw authoritarian procedure and can be witnessed in abbott’s overblown response in Texas.
Can there be any differentiation between actual college students and outside protestors? Can there be any recognition that those who support Israel’s right to exist can also support Palestinians’ right to exist? Can a small number be transformed into the norm for a much larger group?
This crap from the generation that thought bell bottoms and tie dye were high fashion! And let’s not forget platform shoes. It’s pretty disheartening to know that my generation learned NOTHING while protesting and marching.
I just read a Pew survey on attitudes on foreign policy and the analysis based on political party and age. The extreme differences between both was so telling. Democrats and the young could not be more apart from Republicans and the elderly. Search: Pew Research foreign policy priorities.
Emotions often run wild in young people. But protesting the wanton slaughter of innocent women and children is moral and right! Falling over the line into antisemitism is not!
Tide pod challenge was 2018, they’ve graduated (or died).
These young people have lived through a pandemic, they’re probably the least frivolous group of young people in my lifetime. Which is sad, youth should have some frivolity.

So Beckom is qualified to say who “sane adult Americans” are and aren’t? Yeah, right.

Look at the photos of the campers on the campus’ under protest. All the tents are the same, who is supplying and organizing these protests?

Most of those protestors are paid outsiders. Funding for the tents and supplies was traced back to the CCP.

Isn’t that an oxymoron? Right and wrong are a matter of perspective.

My god, this looks exactly like a “Kelly” cartoon from the Onion! Where’s the Statue of Liberty shedding a single tear?
